Mary Webb. “Autumn.” Manuscript poem, one leaf, 6″ x 8⅛″, on off-white laid ruled paper, black ink, twelve lines with two corrections. Torn from a larger sheet, and with minor margin tears. The first line begins: “A solemn land of long fulfilled desires.” This poem differs from the four-line poem titled “Autumn” in Poems and The Spring of Joy (London: Jonathan Cape, 1928, p. 98) It is possible that this manuscript poem has never been printed.
