[Typescript Poem] “Dust”

Mary Webb. “Dust.” Typescript poem, one leaf, 6½″ x 5½″, off-white wove paper, mounted on white ruled paper of slightly larger size. Seventeen lines in two stanzas. Cut from a larger sheet, and with a few wrinkles and creases. The title is written in black ink, and appears to have been added to the sheet at a later date, after the typescript was mounted. Penciled number “8” (?) in upper-right corner. Mary drew inspiration from her home on Lyth Hill, with its view across the farms and forests covering the Shropshire Plain to the purple hills beyond.
