Mary Webb. Autograph letter signed, April 27 [1926], to Arthur St. John Adcock. In this one-page letter, Webb writes about business, and also says that she is sending Adcock’s daughter [Almay] some flowers, and wishes that she could “. . . also include the birdsong—so loud & sweet morning & evening.” Webb also mentions that May Sinclair would like Webb to review her forthcoming novel. Webb’s review of Sinclair’s novel Far End appeared in the November 1926 issue of the Bookman. May Sinclair was a champion of women’s rights, and joined a volunteer ambulance corps at the beginning of the First World War.
