Mary Webb. Autograph letter signed, August 30 [no year], to Arthur St. John Adcock, one page on one leaf. In this friendly letter to the editor of the Bookman, Webb says: “I fear that I have erred and strayed from the reviewers [sic] straight path lately. When I think of the things I have done—been late, written too much, & so on—I am whelmed in remorse & terror!” At the bottom, Webb adds: “Would Mrs. Adcock like some blackberries for jam? There is ‘God’s plenty’ here.”
